As an Application Administrator I work with various systems to support and enhance the teaching and learning environment at Creighton. Systems I help support include our LMS (Canvas), Lecture Capture System (Panopto), and Web Conferencing tool (WebEx). I help manage user accounts, space and resource allocation, and provide training to faculty and staff. Another key part of my role at Creighton University is to work with faculty in the development and support of online programs and courses, and the enhance the technology aspect of face to face and hybrid courses. This involves working closely with faculty to identify and design course materials, and then incorporating them in a consistent and intuitive manner to students within our LMS.

At IWCC my position changed three times with different responsibilities in each. Initially I was hired to perform classroom audio visual work and web design. I redesigned and rewired many classrooms and developed new standards for the basic set up in them. After approximately six months I was given the task of setting up, managing, supporting and training faculty on the use or their new Learning Management System (LMS). The included server design and maintenance, and the development of training plans for our implementation. After about two years of working primarily with the LMS I moved to another position on the programming side of the department working with the web interface for their Student Information System (Datatel SIS). This involved setting up the software to work in our environment and setting standards for how it would be used. During this time I also implemented a "priority registration" process for students, and put into place a wait-listing procedure for class registration in full classes. The entire time I was at IWCC I acted as a "bridge" between faculty and the IT department, and provided consultation to faculty on the use of technology in the classroom and for online instruction.

In this position I was hired to start up a new Teaching and Learning with Technology Center (TLTC) at Buena Vista University. BVU was in the early phases of a program to provide laptop computers to all students on campus. My job was to work on faculty technology development and prepare them for providing a top notch education to students with the use of these new tools in the classroom. During this time I also provided training to faculty and managed their Blackboard Learning Management System.
