• Analysis, management and execution of all LAN and WAN operations.
• Ensuring appropriate support agreements for external support are in place and are effective.
• Maintaining 99.9% uptime of the network infrastructure.
• Supporting the virtualized server infrastructure.

Nairobi

• This role involved:
• Management of the bank’s wide area network running across Kenya comprising of 187 branches and 150 ATMs and well as the subsidiary connect.
• Support subsidiaries on connectivity and security related areas.
• Management of active devices such as layer 2 and layer switches, routers, optimizers (WAE), and firewalls.
• Secure integration of partner connections to access banking services hosted within the bank.
• Managing vendor accounts to ensure Service Level Agreements are adhered to.Highlights include:

Kenya

• In this role, I engaged in support and maintenance of the UAP group network infrastructure spread across Kenya and the group’s subsidiaries in Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. Highlights:
• Successful implementation of corporate and guest wireless network access at UAP head office.
• Roll-out of Microsoft Office 365.
• Successfully deployed video conferencing facilities across the group’s subsidiaries.

Kenya

• Based at Kenya Airways, a top Next Technologies partner, to offer network infrastructure support across Kenya, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Europe. Here, I was the team leader of seven network support technical staff..
• Configuration of Cisco Catalyst and Nexus 5000 switches, routers and wireless access points.
• Team leader for twelve network support personnel at Kenya Airways who are on 24 hour shift.
• Configuration and implementation of Cisco Unified Computing and Servers (UCS) server infrastructure.
• Installation and licensing of VMware ESXi hosts and VCenter.Key highlights:
• Maintained 99% availability of the Kenya Airways network across all the branches in Kenya and its offices in the rest of Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
