Richard M. Wilner is a founding member of Wilner & O'Reilly, APLC. He is certified as a specialist (expert) in immigration law by the State Bar of California. He is an advocate for productive foreign born individuals and companies who will make a positive impact on the United States. Mr. Wilner heads the firm's employment-based practice group. He and his team focus on: E1/E2, H-1B, L-1A/B, O-1, P-1 and R-1 visas, and all employment-based green cards. Other practice groups within the firm focus on family-based immigration (parent, spouse and children petitions) as well as deportation defense (unless convicted of serious crime).Richard has received the coveted Martindale-Hubbel AV Rating, the highest legal and ethical rating that one can receive from one's peers in the legal community. He has been awarded the title of Super Lawyer from 2007 to the present time. He previously chaired the Orange County Bar Association's Immigration Section and serves on the the Executive Committee of the Orange County Jewish Bar Association. He was a former Commissioner on the State Bar of California's Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Commission (INLAC) and as the Military Liaison for the Southern California Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers' Association (AILA). Mr. Wilner's pro bono projects include assistance to activity duty U.S. military, the Public Law Center and Human Options.A native of Los Angeles, California, Mr. Wilner received his law degree (Juris Doctor) as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Business Practice from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific and the University of Salzburg, Austria. He also received a Certificate in International Law from the National University of Singapore and Bachelors of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of California in 1992. He has also worked in Thailand and Vietnam.Mr. Wilner is married and the proud father of two boys who are avid wrestlers.
