Rob’s driven creativity manifested itself at an early age already, which led to a strong urge to pick up a pencil to draw his visual excesses on paper. The decision and motivation to proceed to a design study at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen for a further development of his artistic ambition and ingenuity after completing middle school was a logical one to make. Due to the digitalisation trend in the 90's slowly but surely the computer started to replace the pencil as a tool.
In his general opinion a good draft and result combines clear communication with attractive imagery supported by a unique designer's “handwriting”. The co-operation and interaction between these basic principles is extremely crucial of course. Naturally the composition is partially influenced by the demands and needs by the client. Some people offer him free reign, others have a detailed list of wishes or requirements. He values his flexible interaction with his customers almost as much as his pride in the product or service that he is able to deliver. In 2006 he founded a company called Up-Projects. A business that among other things specializes in creating imagery artwork for the (Dutch) electronic dance music or entertainment scene. As he actively contributed and participated in this community for a extended period of time already it provided him the opportunity in creating an effective, objective, perceptible vision on it’s specialized needs.
