Robert N. Coffey, Jr., Ph.D. is a higher education consultant, lecturer, policy analyst, practitioner, and researcher. He currently serves as Assistant Director for International Admissions at Michigan State University. Robert’s dissertation investigated the experiences of international students who hired education agents to assist them in applying to college or university in Canada. [NOTE: As a matter of policy, MSU International Admissions does not hire/use agents in support of recruitment activities.]Robert has worked for over twenty years across multiple functional areas, including conflict management, multicultural/LGBTQ student services, residential life/housing, and undergraduate research. He has presented at academic, admissions, and professional conferences in Canada, China, Indonesia, the U.K., and the U.S. Robert consults with government agencies, policy centers, and postsecondary institutions in the U.S. and Canada. Robert holds a Ph.D., in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University; a B.A. in Canadian Studies from the University of Vermont; a M.A. in History from the University of Maine; and an M.P.A. (Public Administration) from the University of New Hampshire.
