About Richard Landers

As a research psychologist, I consult and also conduct academic research on new HR-relevant technologies as they are invented. I support managers, consultants, and researchers choosing whether or not to implement such tech. I want to know not only if these technologies are wise investments, but why they do or do not work and under what circumstances. Even the best tech systems are useless or even harmful if not correctly implemented alongside human processes.My focus is in Industrial Psychology, and more specifically on employee hiring and training/development as they can be improved with modern digital technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence/machine learning, games and gamification, the Internet in general).My consulting clients tend to be either HR technology startups trying to understand the legal and practical sides of their business or I-O psychologists trying to understand the technical sides of their business. I try to move all organizations toward an integrative approach to psychology and technology, with a careful eye toward minimizing litigation risk.
