Developed a novel, non-invasive (patent-pending) neuromodulation device for the treatment of Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS). Built an MVP and showed early proof of concept testing and data. Captured voice-of-customer input and surgeon feedback, built out business model canvas, completed market analysis and validation, as well as IP landscape assessment. Bringing product from conception to market. Submitted an FDA pre-sub document to Hogan Lovells and the FDA and Completed an academic FDA pre-sub meeting with FDA to get feedback and validation on regulatory pathway. Conducted verification studies based on engineering requirements, design inputs, and user needs. Collaborated with academic partners to address technical challenges and risks. Led the team in winning the grand prize at the Stu Clark New Venture competition, also won second place in video pitch competition. Implemented an LLM-powered AI diagnostic tool for integration in telemedicine platforms for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and rural India. Performed ethnographic needs finding on grassroots level in India to determine biggest pain points for current technology and gaps. Conducted various stakeholder interviews which included speaking with clinicians, patients, community healthcare workers,and government officials. Designed new UI using Figma and stakeholders’ input. Collaborated in creating Product Requirements Document (PRD) for beta-prototype. Submitted a manuscript on utility and challenges for IEEE conference. Designed usability study for early efficacy verification testing, concordance, and soliciting voice-of-customer feedback on diagnostic tool.

Research involves knee and meniscal injury mechanics. Creating novel intra-operative knee sensor and deployment mechanism using CAD to 3D model and prototype. Developing meniscal mimics using Poly(vinyl alcohol) PVA; performing fatigue fracture, mechanical testing; using SEM and confocal microscopy to characterize alignment of samples. Collaborating cross-functionally with scientists, surgeons, engineers for various studies, including: wrist fracture study, mouse micro-motion study.

Developing a novel cervical insufficiency diagnostic device to measure cervical tissue stiffness. Programming Arduino feather and TOF sensor as well as pumps and valves to ensure an efficient device. Implementing our own CAD design using Fusion, 3D printing and laser-cutting mechanical parts. Develop Cell-Free Protein Synthesis (CFPS) specific to E. coli using experimental and computational models. Improve Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic models that map hemorrhage and trauma to improve medical procedures.

Worked with MTF on their CartiMax product to mechanical test and ensure properties are comparable to real cartilage. Tests included rheology, confined compression, and extrusion. Through our tests we also worked to come up with improvements for the product and ways to make it more efficient and marketable. Provided feedback on how to improve product for easier and more efficient and targeted marketing.

Worked to diagnose and fix broken medical equipment in district and regional hospitals in Tanzania while also taking various practical application classes for electronics, breadboarding, & motor mechanics; experienced cultural immersion. Worked to complete a needs finding assessment to later develop a medical device for use in Tanzania and other locations globally and within the US.

Led the implementation of a VAWD accreditation program designed to help the site maintain licensing and to be implemented for the entire company in the near future; worked on MACRO revisions for CAPA review board tool to improve performance. Also, worked to bring together interns at my site and act as the Liaison when it came to communication.

Designed & constructed a nasal drug delivery device for faster and more efficient allergy relief for the 2019 competition. Designed & constructed a fallopian tube balloon (new contraceptive method) to be non-invasive, affordable, and reversible. Focusing on provider feedback and UX .

TAB volunteer and EM Shadow: Have had experience both shadowing and volunteering within the hospital and specifically within the emergency room. I have aided various EM doctors and a trauma surgeon. My job included everything from observing patient and doctor interactions to interacting with patients to not-taking to being a patient liaison. My duties included helping or brining food and drink to patient, offering family members help or a relief from the emergency room, and communications with medical staff and personnel.
