• Performed various roles: cable splicing technician, service technician, and fiber admin/technician network services in accordance with established guidelines. • Served as a team leader in the absence of the manager- assigned tasks on completing engineering work orders.• Conducted splicing operations in connection with the installation, rearrangement, and repair of outside plant facilities, to include fiber/copper cable, wire, terminals, loop carrier electronics and light guide facilities.• Read and interpreted engineering plans (CAD), vendor specifications for the installation, repair of optic/electronic equipment, and interacting with engineering personnel.• Used test equipment to check for gas in manholes, including emptying water from manholes; located/cleared discrepancies outside plant facilities (copper and fiber).• Applied electrical and mechanical testing apparatus; tested, located, and repaired defects in wires for copper cables and fibers for fiber optic cables and digital carrier systems. • Installed, repaired, inspected, and maintained inside cables, wires and plug-in equipment to connect telecommunication systems/equipment, including dark fiber and fiber equipment: routers, video and set-top boxes.• Contacted customers in notification of work performed on their lines and when service will be restored; ensured 100% customer satisfaction. • Reviewed vendor specifications for optic and electronic equipment; identified and met individual customer requirements on provisioning/repair contacts.• Executed preventive maintenance and provided corrected information to appropriate individuals- resulted in proper identification of database discrepancies.
