As sr. researcher and team lead seed physiology, I am responsible for the development of seed enhancement protocols, incl. implementation (i.e. large scale processing), focusing on technologies such as priming and dormancy breaking, film coating and pelleting, and application of biologicals to the seed. The team I manage currently consists of four.

As Senior Product Specialist at the Development department of Incotec, I was responsible for developing film coating products and products related to the application of plant protection products and additives (e.g. growth enhancers). The group I managed consisted of three product specialists (researchers) and two assistants, together we developed new film.

Until 2005 I worked with Flower Seed Technology. When Flower Seed Technology was acquired by Incotec in 2005, I remained responsible for the ornamental crops (see description at Researcher Seed Technology at Flower Seed Technology) and also got involved in developing seed technology products related to vegetables, more specifically in developing film.

As Researcher Seed Technology at Flower Seed Technology I was responsible for developing new coating and seed technology products (in its broadest sense) for ornamental crops, which include flowers, herbs, trees, cuttings and bulbs. New technologies and products were developed based on market requirements as well as market opportunities. I worked closely.

At Seminis I have developed new coating and seed technology recipes to improve the quality of (vegetable) seeds. I have also set up the seed technology procedures and work instructions according to the ISO 9000 model, and have trained employees how to use these. I have collaborated with universities and research institutes, to develop specific seed.

At Rogers Seed I have introduced new seed technology and film coating recipes for use in the production department, and have trained employees how to use these. Besides being a researcher, I was also responsible for three production departments, i.e. the treating, packing, and shipping departments. I had 17 employees reporting to me. I have set up all.

At Zaadunie I have researched the possibilities to use bioreactors for the production of plants by means of somatic embryogenesis. This involved technical, biological, as well as computational research. The research has led to a patent application (see US patent number 5,587,312).
