I am a highly motivated Human Resources professional with over 35 years of experience of working in multi site operations in the UK. I served an engineering apprenticeship and then gained my BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering before moving into Personnel Management with David Brown Gears, a move that I have never regretted. David Brown Gears gave me a very good grounding which enabled me to move on to Belmont Weaving Mill (Courtaulds Textiles) in 1985, another brilliant move in my life. I was only at Belmont Mill for 2 years but this was a very young and progressive management team so I gained a massive amount of experience in that time. My next move after being made redundant, was to Claremont Garments, a clothing manufacturer based in Peterlee and producing ladies garments predominantly for Marks and Spencers. When I joined Claremont in 1987, there were 5 sites in Durham but over the next 10 years, the business grew by acquisition and had 30 sites throughout the UK. However in 1998, Claremont were bought, ironically for me, by Courtaulds Textiles, so I went full circle. From 1998, unfortunately, the remainder of my time in that business was involved in closing all the operational sites and transferring work overseas. This inevitably led to my redundancy in 2008.I joined Fastflow Pipeline Services Limited in May 2008, initially on an interim basis but was made permanent at the end of that year and I am once again part of a management team that has seen considerable growth by acquisition.I class myself as being a very fortunate, and proud, man having worked for only 4 Companies in over 40 years and gained a fantastic amount of experience in all areas of business. I cannot wait to see what is round the corner!!
