After completing over 35 continuous and hugely enjoyable years service at JLT Specialty and more recently Marsh, I took advantage of the opportunity for early retirement, leaving 31st December 2019.I have many good friends in the JLT/Marsh business and the insurance industry, apologies to all those I wasn't able to get to inform personally prior to my leaving.As for the future who knows what awaits, I am open to consider a suitable role (including part-time) in keeping with my experience and hope I may be of some assistance to someone out there.My industry experience is briefly as that posted below;Commenced work with Iron Trades Mutual Insurance in 1980 as Liability Underwriter, moving on to Glanvill Enthoven before acquisition by Jardine Insurance Brokers, becoming eventually JLT Specialty for which I held the positions and roles of Client Service Director, Deputy Regional Managing Director, Partner and Client Executive and was a member of the Birmingham Regional Risk Practice Branch Executive, with client focus in the following sectors;Engineering & ManufacturingFood & AgriFarm EstatesTransport including Bus, Coach and HaulageLegal & Regulatory ProfessionsAerospaceWholesale and RetailLeisureTechnologyHealthcareConstructionGlobalsHigh Net WorthYears of involvement in providing clients with insurance programme design and critique, risk guidance, management and loss analysis. Outside of business, and being a keen motorcyclist, in 2015 I motorcycled 600 miles off road through Zambia with and in support of Riders for Health 'My Long Way Down Through Zambia', an exciting, challenging yet humbling experience raising over £7,000 for the Charity and meeting some wonderful people along the way, thanks to everyone who gave their support! Rode in part the route ridden by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman during their own epic Long Way Down adventure, and I'd encourage anyone who has always dreamed of doing something like this to JUST DO IT!
