  Product Manager for all expeditions destined for Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.As the Expedition Planning Manager for East Africa, I organise all of World Challenge's expeditions to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. Annually, this equates to approximately 50 – 70 teams on bespoke itineraries, comprising of over 800 individuals. I manage a team of five In-Country Agents who act as my ground handlers in each country. I am responsible for their pay, welfare, training and development. Each year I am part of a team which delivers a week’s worth of training to 20 of our agents. Destination responsibility covers all aspects of advice, from itineraries to risk assessments. In addition to office based work I plan and conduct independent recces to the region to source new products, negotiate contracts, assess safety and recruit agents where needed. Every year I deliver briefings and preparation training at four conferences around the UK to over 300 expedition leaders ahead of their expeditions. I am heavily involved in the operational side of the business, acting as a duty Incident Response Manager in our 24/7 Operations Centre which deals with over 200 incidents at any one time; from lost passports, country diverts, and medical emergencies.
