As Senior Director of IT and head of Amkor's global Center of Excellence for Application Development & Cloud Computing, I am accountable for the delivery and operation of Amkor's application portfolio including amkor.com, the corporate intranet, our customer portal, and most ancillary business applications. My CoE is focused on managing cost, consistency, talent and speed of delivery across the enterprise. Key project deliveries include: ✔Led the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite for Amkor's 24,000 employees across 9 countries and in seven languages. Modules include EmployeeCentral, Performance & Goals, Recruiting, and Compensation. Implementation resulted in the consolidation of 7 disparate HR systems and hundreds of process variances into a single global system with downstream integrations for payroll and other non-core HR functions. The project was delivered on time in 13 months and 10 % under budget. Case study delivered at SAP's SuccessConnect 2015 conference.✔Created Amkor’s reference architecture and championed standardization that aligned business drivers with information and technology on a global basis.✔Directed development of a custom Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) application built on the Force.com platform covering 100% of all quotes generated by the Amkor global sales team. This system standardized the quoting process for Amkor resulting in reduced time-to-quote, consistent pricing, and win/loss analytics not previously possible. ✔Partnered with key business decision makers to understand the business vision, communicate and clarify technical needs, develop roadmaps, and ensure budget and development talent are aligned with corporate and IT directives.

Collaborated as a member of the senior IT leadership team to provide strategic direction, budgeting, vendor and contract management, coordination, and management of talent responsible for the design, development and support of Amkor’s broad application portfolio and IT processes for the $2.7B global enterprise.✔Directed IT portfolio consolidation efforts to reduce redundant systems, resulting in a capital and operating expenditure reduction of over 10%.✔Developed and championed the architectural vision and strategy for EAI modernization of Amkor’s integration architecture from point to point using batch files to real-time XML messaging using Service Oriented Architecture principles. The new integration architecture facilitates better governance, a culture of reuse within application development groups, a decrease in cycle-time for customer B2B on-boarding, lower transaction latency, improved data quality, and an overall increase in the flexibility to deal with changing business requirements. ✔Lowered application development and operational costs through the establishment of an off-shore solutions group located in the Philippines while increasing IT’s ability to deliver value-added services. ✔Implemented a portal with Digital Rights Management capabilities to support the highly collaborative design process between Amkor and its suppliers and customers. The system allows Amkor to secure access to sensitive information by replacing the costly, face-to-face exchange of paper documents. This provides Amkor with a competitive advantage through faster, more secure collaboration while enhancing IP protection and addressing government audit and regulatory concerns. Planned and directed all aspects of Internet and groupware development objectives, policies, and initiatives for the global organization. ✔Created and led the Web Development Group, chartered with developing and maintaining the next generation of internet based applications. ✔Led efforts to design, document, and implement policies, procedures, and systems in support of compliance and audit requirements stemming from the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Areas of responsibility included security, architecture, software change management, development standards, defect/feature tracking, and SDLC methodology. ✔Managed development of a self-service process automation system that allows customers to configure and submit characterization requests via the web. Benefits include reduced error rate and improvements to simulation cycle time as well as cost savings from automation.✔Planned and executed the migration and consolidation of all Internet based applications, servers, and services from the old corporate data center in Pennsylvania to a new data center location in Arizona with no disruption to service. ✔Reduced helpdesk calls related to the customer Extranet by 98% by identifying and analyzing problem trends, and implementing a proactive monitoring and self-help system. ✔Managed the development of an application to consolidate miscellaneous billing requests and integrate with Amkor’s iSeries based legacy billing system. The successful deployment of this project on time and under budget greatly improved the billing process, leading to significant revenue recovery of previously unidentified billable items.

✔Evaluated the potential and practicality of new and emerging technologies and advised senior management as appropriate. ✔Developed and maintained coding and design standards for web based applications and websites. ✔Implemented a web based design work request system, resulting in a reduction in costly design errors and an overall reduction in design cycle time. ✔Championed the adoption of an enterprise reporting platform, resulting in a standardized method for generating and distributing key business reports while reducing the time required to service report requests. ✔Led Y2K efforts to test and validate all web based applications for Y2K compliance. Developed, tested and implemented a disaster recovery plan for all web based systems and services.

✔Designed, developed, and deployed the company’s first corporate website encompassing a wide array of technical and marketing materials. Implemented an ongoing redesign cycle which lead to recognition as the “Best Semiconductor Subcontract Website” for multiple years by Chipscale Review Magazine.✔Implemented the company’s first Intranet, taking the project global in less than eight months. Case study featured on the cover of the May 1997 issue of PC Today magazine.✔Designed content management system for managing documents and other Intranet content. Automated “What’s New” functionality featured in the Microsoft Press book Understanding Intranets (Strategic Technology Series). Provided medical care required to maintain the fitness and readiness of the Delaware Air National Guard.✔Trained instructors and administered the self aid/buddy care program, with responsibility for maintaining the first aid and CPR certification for the entire 1,100 member unit.✔Taught CPR, First Aid, EMT initial and refresher courses, and nursing skills to medical personnel on a continuing basis.
