My current role remains the same but with a different office which has a slightly differing agiruclutral focus. The current area covers both crofters & farming enterprises which includes work relating to tenants amnesty, grazing & contractual agreements, business efficiencies and accounting &land & business diversification. Futhermore, as part of the Farm Advisory Service I work heavily in event facilitation which takes the form of knowledge transfer meeting, discussion groups, demonstrations and media coverage to convey a wide range of relevant rural topics.

Stornoway

Covering a range of topics specifically relating to the crofting agriculture that is the main activity in the Isle of Lewis & Harris in both technical advice, legislative guidance and grant/subsidy application. Technical advice coverage includes soil assessments, fertiliser recommendations, business management guidance, enterprise planning, rationing and animal health information. Legislative advice pertains to the labyrinth of law and regulations specific to crofting agriculture. Subsidy and grant guidance and assistance covers both crofting specific applications, such as CAGS, CHGS, as well as IACS, AECS, New Entrant, Young –farmer, BES, SUSSS, SSBSS, LEADER and other SRDP related funding.

A diverse course that covers the wide range of topics that fall within rural business and technical agriculture. Soils and cropping.

Bachelor'S Degree, Applied Animal Science, Pass

3 year degree which I completed over a prolonged duration in order to work in between and gather as much knowledge, skills and practical.
