16 years as a front line EMS pilot in Ontario flying Bell 212, BK117 and Sikorsky S76Managed the start up of Dedicated EMS helicopter operations in Sudbury (1981); Halifax (1996); Moosonee, Kenora, London and Ottawa (all 1999); including recruiting, hiring, scheduling all pilots and paramedics, designing and managing aircraft EMS conversions, building hangars, establishing landing sites and providing liaison with stakeholders, public service agencies and hospitals.Appointed to the Air Ambulance Review Committee (1993 - Gail Donner, Chair) to investigate, report and make recommendations to the Minister of Health for improvements to all Air Ambulance Operations in Ontario.Accepted in 2003, on behalf of CHL EMS, an award from Sikorsky Aircraft in honour of the first EMS helicopter operation in the world to attain 100,000 accident free flight hours with S76's.Managed CHL EMS Division of 85 pilots, 42 AME's operating 12 helicopters from 8 bases, transporting over 6,000 patients per year, delivering the highest levels of safety and dispatch reliability.
