Okay...I have been in the building industry for 30 years.I have worked in many different roles along the way which gives me a great overall understanding of the industry and from many different prospectives .to include running my own successful fit out company for many years.As a manager i am strong but also personable which regularly finds me building bridges that otherwise wouldn't be there which in turn promotes productivity.Although generally freelance i have longevity with companies such as Osborne where i spent the best part of 9 years.I have worked under many different titles in my management career but feel that in general they all pretty much amount to the same, being get the job done, done well, on time and not over budget.I have also spent a large portion of my later career resolving problemed projects that are not working as they should be, during this time i would get there, assess the issues, put strategies in place to rectify the issues in the most cost effective way but without compromising on quality which is a big thing for me. I am a natural problem solver that likes to think outside the box and gets a buzz out of turning things around.I am well organised, very hard working and have a passion for construction. I am an ex tradesman which i believe helps me relate to the subbies but also comfortable leading a management team also.In my experience i find that when i am 'Troubleshooting' that it is generally a culmination of armchair management and the weaker trades holding the better ones back which builds frustration.I do have my own processes and am comfortable taking the lead and consequent responsibility but i am also comfortable working as part of a team and following already implemented procedures.My biggest belief on site is that there is a common goal and that is to get things finished (and correctly) as this is most beneficial for EVERYBODY on site, unfortunately it seems like this gets forgotten a lot of the time which is not only unfortunate but also leads to less profitability and in some cases commercial disputes that could be avoided if planning and collaboration was improved.
