As a Senior Account Executive at Towergate I have two main roles.Firsty, looking after my existing Customers, many of whom I have known for over 15 years.I believe that It is important to stay ahead of the changing Insurance Market and ensure that my Client's Insurance arrangements continue to meet the challenges of the World that we all now do business in. Cyber threats and increasingly sophisticated Crime attacks I consider to be our biggest concerns right now. Secondly, I enjoy meeting new Companies and writing new business. Even after 18 years as a broker, meeting new Companies and tailoring an Insurance Program for them is a very rewarding part of my job.I was also the Commercial Manager at Towergate in Warwick before being promoted to the Area Broking Director which means that I get to work closely with all of our major Insurer and additional service providers. Ensuring we have a great business relationship with key players in the Market is fundamental to what Towergate do as a broker, whether this be in making sure that our Clients are benefiting from the best possible Insurance Product available, launching new Products (e.g Crime / Cyber) as they become increasingly important to my Customers or working with the other Towergate divisions to deliver a wide range of products such as Employee Benefits and Private Medical Insurance.

When I started this role the Company was SBJ Limited, a wholly owned independent Insurance Broker, who specialised in providing Insurance Products for Corporate Client's and who valued Customer Service above everything else.I was a Divisional Director and Senior Account Executive servicing a book of Existing Corporate Clients and developing new business opportunities.SBJ were eventually bought by Bluefin, part of Axa Insurance.

I started my Insurance Career as a Commercial Underwriter with GRE (UK) Ltd... who no longer exist.In my 13 years with GRE they bought Legal and General Insurance, rebranded as Guardian Insurance and were eventually bought by Axa.I spent 5 years as a Commercial Underwriter, 3 years on their graduate fast track scheme and my final 5 years as a Business Development Manager (BDM). This was well before the advent of electronic trading when BDM's were Mobile Underwriters as well as the main contact between the Insurer and the Broker.When Axa bought Guardian I took the leap from the Insurer Market in to Broking....
