Hello! My name is Rob Calloway, and I am a dedicated media educator and broadcasting professional with over two decades of experience in the radio, television, and video production industries. Originally from Cartersville, Ga., I have spent my career blending my passion for storytelling, technology, and education to inspire students and foster the next generation of media professionals. My professional journey began in broadcast journalism, where I spent over 20 years honing my skills as a reporter, on-air personality, and broadcast manager. I served as an Assistant News Director at CBS Radio for seven years, where I developed comprehensive marketing and communication strategies and managed teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across platforms. Throughout this time, I cultivated a deep understanding of media production, storytelling, and leadership that became the foundation of my work in education.Transitioning into teaching was a deliberate and fulfilling choice. After earning the necessary certifications and expanding my educational qualifications, I brought my industry expertise into the classroom. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Broadcast Video Production to high school students in DeKalb County. At Columbia High School, I developed the Audio Video Technology and Film (AVTF) program, achieving a remarkable 93% End-of-Pathway Assessment (EOPA) passer rate. I’ve also been instrumental in establishing a sports broadcasting curriculum at Arabia Mountain High School, giving students hands-on experience covering live events and producing professional-quality content.Beyond the classroom, I am an active mentor and leader, serving as a sponsor for SkillsUSA and the Student Television Network. These roles allow me to guide students in national competitions, helping them develop the technical and leadership skills they need to succeed in the ever-evolving world of media.I am proud to call Stonecrest, Ga. home, where I continue to balance my professional pursuits with my personal interests. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring innovative technologies in media, staying active, and supporting local sports. My goal is to empower students with the tools and knowledge to excel in media production, providing them with opportunities to turn their passions into thriving careers.Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!
