Incertec, formally Spec Plating, is a private equity owned metal finishing operation. We are AS9100, ISO-14001, NADCAP, ITAR, and have our Federal Firearms License (FFL) servicing Aerospace, Medical Automotive and general industry. We focus on low volume, high mix customers. This business is a high-intensity environment with quick decision making and a lot of customer contact. With customers as large as Boeing, Airbus, Medtronic and as small as local machine shops, we have to be very nimble and adjust to multiple environments. The culture and management environment is based on a set of 36 KPIs that focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery performance and Employee Development.

Hired by Progress Casting in 2007 until it was bought by Wellman Dynamics in November 2009. Wellman Dynamics is a key supplier to the Aerospace and Automotive industry supplying precision aluminum castings and machining. Reporting to the President in Creston, IA responsibilities included All departments and P&L responsibility.

CTA Acoustics supplies thermal and acoustic material (fiber glass blend). This material is formed and stamped into shape and sent to Chrysler, GM, Nissan, and Ford. The Quality Manager role was a hybrid function because underneath it was all facets of quality but tooling management and R&D projects. - Formulated DOEs and executed very technical improvement programs.- Started a Kanban program- Worked with purchasing for buying capital equipment (In excess of $1M)- Achieved Q1 status with Ford.- Went 1 year without any charge backs from customers.

We supplied Toyota power steering gear boxes. Working in Quality for Toyota was a game changing experience. I was responsible for internal inspection (process & Metrology) and for QS-9000. I implemented QS-9000 in 1998.

American showa supplied power steering units to Honda. This operation was almost a completely vertically integrated manufacturing operation. This included Aluminum casting, machining, heat treating, and assembly. I was responsible for internal quality functions (SPC, Metrology, Inspection)

I was contracted through EIL Instruments (Bought by Transcat) to work at Beohringer Mannhiem (Now Roche). They are a huge biomedical facility trying for ISO-9000 at the time. We put in a calibration system and managed their equipment. They achieved certification but this was just a contract job.
