Designed and implemented a new web application used by our Chief Investment Officer and financial analysts to screen and analyze potential stocks for inclusion into a hedge fund portfolio. System provided advanced searching capabilities of financial transcripts and multiple viewing options to screen through current and historical financial documents and provided a rich HTML-based editing environment for annotating the documents.Implemented as a single page web application using Javascript/jQuery, tinyMCE, and RESTservices with a Java/postgreSQL backend.

Managed six software engineers involved in a variety of projects including web, Windows Desktop and Embedded Windows software products. Managed the specification, commercialization and ongoing development of a web-based laboratory management software system. Software developed using Open Source technologies including JBoss web application server, Seam, Java, postgreSQL database, JSF, XML, CSS and xhtml. Managed a development group in Florence, Italy for special projects. Partnered with clients to specify customization needs and manage projects from inception to delivery. Managed the development of the embedded Windows CE software for a portable lubrication mini-lab. Team consisted of both embedded and user interface designers and developers. Introduced an Agile/Scrum development process.Responsible for the re-architecting and productizing the software for a portable handheld device running the Windows Mobile operating system. Development done in C# using SQL Server Compact for database storage. Supervised group of three software engineers. Device contained an IR spectrometer that measured fluids for degradation and contamination.
