Rob has a wealth of experience in primary education. After teaching in Manchester and Middlesbrough he held two primary headships. He was head of a small village school in the heart of rural Cambridgeshire and then moved to West Berkshire to open a new school which eventually had over 400 children on roll.After being seconded as General Primary Adviser with Berkshire, he lectured in primary education at the University of Reading. Here, Rob was a Director of the BA(Ed) and leader of the PGCE EYFS course; he also devised and ran MA courses in school leadership, curriculum design and ICT.He was an external adviser on headteacher performance management to over thirty schools before becoming a School Improvement Partner.Currently an independent educational consultant, Rob has worked with British schools in the UK and overseas, providing in-service training for teachers, teaching assistants and leadership teams.He has led over 250 Ofsted inspections and over 50 inspections, accreditations and advisory visits overseas. These have included work in Abu Dhabi, China, Cambodia, Cyprus, Dubai, Ecuador, Egypt, Holland, Indonesia, Libya, Nigeria, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand and Viet Nam.Rob has written scripts for and presented schools’ television and children’s programmes, has composed musicals for children, and has written four books on ICT in the primary school.He retains his interest in music as a songwriter and lead singer in a 1950s rock and roll band.Rob has a reputation for quality, integrity and innovation resulting from many years of building relationships with school leaders, teachers and governors based on trust and mutual respect. His collaborative, fresh and determined approach underpins all his work.
