Essentially, I can be found at the core of jazz music happenings in NYC and abroad. My goals are to promulgate American music around the world through performing, contributing compositions, and instruction. I also regularly consult on "front-of-house" operations in jazz clubs opening around the world in order to raise the level of hospitality for the people surrounding the art form. Aside from playing, I'm the artistic director of "About the Swing", an initiative that brings jazz programs and curricula into public schools in NYC (www.abouttheswing.com). I'm also Chief Operating Officer of a non-profit organization called Jazz Generation that finds performance opportunities for musicians while also subsidizing costs for venues that support live jazz as well as educating youngsters through our two youth programs (www.jazzgeneration.org).
