Ace Learning and Consulting operates to assist small and medium sized companies with their training needs. I design and deliver all content. Clients are sourced through personal leads and I contract with local community colleges and UNC Charlotte to deliver customized business training for a variety of industries and government/public organizations. Content examples are DISC Communication, GROW Coaching, Emotional Intelligence, Team Building, General Leadership, Situational Leadership and Manager Effectiveness as well as 1:1 coaching on demand. I serve as an instructor for public enrollment courses for UNC Charlotte on topics such as Presentation Skills and Proper Hiring. I support a UNC Charlotte Training Certificate Program as both an instructor and a member of the advisory panel on curriculum and am assisting with the design of a BS in Professional Studies.

Designed and delivered leadership programs for the global audience in a manufacturing environment as well as corporate headquarters. Designed and developed programs for HiPos, emerging leaders and existing leaders. Helped lead transformation of the organization to a more people focused company focusing on recognition, accountability and collaboration. Program was recognized at the C suite level, as well as investor calls, for having a positive impact on employee engagement, turnover and productivity. Delivered programs both virtually and in person throughout company footprint. Developed new learning staff by sharing knowledge, coaching and feedback. Impacted by a reduction in force.

I directly managed all HR learning programs such as manager and employee development training as well as sales. I assisted in the design and delivery of sales training, including the build of new hire blended learning playbooks to accelerate ramp time for new sales hires. I was integral in the implementation of a targeted hiring model shift for the organization to drive down labor costs by hiring less seasoned employees. This shift required the build of new hire playbooks for a variety of audiences, using a blended curriculum of online learning, on the job training and strategic meetings. I also created career pathing supported by an education path built with vendor supplied content to support the targeted hiring goals.

Managed programs for new financial advisors. The impact was a more prepared and informed workforce in driving sales and assets under management. I also managed a central resource and curriculum for 2,000+ Investment Managers/Investment Strategists and others based on competencies developed in concert with the business and HR. I managed a vendor relationship to deliver a specific certification to learners on a leadership referral basis. In addition to these responsibilities, I participated on a leadership committee in developing HR topics to review for both my team as well as a greater HR audience.

Managed and hired learning resources and consulted with senior business leaders to meet both technical and soft skills training needs of a 1500+ customer service and operations line of businesses while staying within stated budget guidelines. I coached direct reports on facilitation, design, and overall experience as a professional in the learning field.

My primary responsibility was the management and development of the College of Risk Management and Compliance (RMC) inside of the LPL corporate learning university. I developed and delivered manager to executive specific training, both instructor lead (in person and virtual) as well as web-based e-learning and virtual classrooms via Adobe Captivate. I managed the required compliance training needs for the internal customer base, including all FINRA and regulatory required enterprise training as well as managing the curriculum needs of the RMC college with executive compliance leadership. The changes I made to the required training for the firm lowered required training time from 15 hours to 7-8 hours and increased participation to nearly 98% on average. I was an active participant in additional areas supporting greater team goals such as managing employee engagement survey, new hire on-boarding, and corporate learning initiatives such as LEAN. I also served in a leadership role in the launching of two Learning Management Systems and a Corporate University Model.

As a Program Manager for the Organizational, Development and Training (OD&T) team, I managed multiple programs impacting various areas of the firm. I partnered with OD&T resources and operations management to deliver a robust and targeted training specifically for LPL operations associates, this included live facilitation as well as web-based training. Leading a team of business partners and one learning resource we surpassed all goals. I also contributed to overall team measurement and designing and launching LPL’s first LMS system.

As a Senior Trainer and a part of the Organizational, Development and Training (OD&T) team I supported the team in various ways. I designed and delivered training when new institutions joined LPL. I also served as the trainer for New Hire classes for all business channels. I delivered technical skills training as well as soft skills and professional development. I participated in the design and delivery of a coaching program for managers with support of executive leadership.

Lead trainer supporting a brokerage and investment division of Wachovia; this includes asset management accounts, brokerage accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts. I was also the training Relationship Manager to the brokerage division, responsible for designing curriculum, facilitating, scheduling, and delivering training on these products; this includes new hires and continuing education of current associates in Charlotte, North Carolina. I had one direct report managing schedule and coaching on design and facilitation. I also coordinated all investment training for the Salem, Oregon site and traveled when necessary.

My job duties included managing and leading the team, MOHR coaching of teammates, handling escalated issues, scheduling, training, and HR situations. I was also charged with conducting year end reviews, discretionary bonuses, and merit increases. Under my leadership the team went from last in quality and performance to first.
