About Rob Eden

Senior Engineer Leader with 20+ years experience developing software, web services and APIs. Experience using modern technologies in an agile environment (incl. Proficient in Web Development and development processes, best practices and tools used in the production of high quality solutions. Skilled at communicating across all organizational levels from executive management to front-line users.I am a third generation American, and nobody in my immediate family has endured the American collegiate experience. I was an honors student in high school, involved in extracurricular activities, while working a part-time job. We struggled to pay bills; I struggled with studying, homework, and sleep. Like my mother and father, I was unable to pay for a complete collegiate degree, and I dropped out to get a full-time job. Unlike my mother and father, I had access to free and open information on the Internet; I was able to teach myself the basics of computer repair, and eventually, web development. The Electrical Engineering coursework that I was able to complete in college provided a valuable foundation to what would eventually become a career in Web Engineering.I started my career in a call center for dial-up internet support in Albuquerque, NM. From there, I managed the Albuquerque/Santa Fe/Los Alamos/Gallup territory for a Dell on-site repair provider, while I built up a small list of clients for freelance repair and consulting. After moving to New York City in 2005, I continued my career in technical support for Franklin Templeton, Kaye Scholer, and the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. While working at Columbia University, I transitioned to Web Development. In 2011, the Director of Application Development and the Director of Infrastructure and I left to run our own web development consulting company.Since 2013, I’ve worked as an Engineering Leader in various contract and full-time positions for start-ups, digital agencies, and government agencies.
