Loss control generalist providing safety and risk management services to our policy holders throughout central and eastern Virginia. The company is engaged in installing cured-in-place sewer and storm drain lines underground, excavation and replacement of underground sewer and storm drain lines, and routine cleaning of the same. As Safety Director I am responsible for all aspects of developing, enforcing, monitoring and revising the company safety program and related activities. As well as conducting job-site visits for eleven field crews, I also perform all training in-house including permit-required confined space, hazard communication, blood-borne pathogens, VDOT Basic Work Zone Traffic Control, PPE, Respiratory Protection, and all other OSHA-required training. I am qualified as an OSHA Outreach trainer for the 10- and 30-hour Construction training. My responsibilities also include monitoring 32 commercial drivers and a fleet of over 50 straight trucks and equipment for DOT compliance and safety. As risk manager, I negotiate the commercial lines insurance with current and potential providers. My position involves investigation of all incidents and injuries, including determining root cause(s) and determining preventive and proactive actions to reduce recurrence, as well as working with injured employees for return to work.
