Business Change Manager
Herefordshire Council is a unitary authority managing the provision of local government services to its population of approximately 175,000 residents. During my time with Herefordshire Council I have been responsible for managing a number of strategically important projects and programmes. These include the redesign and renegotiation of the strategic partnership with Amey which delivers the highways service. I also managed the project to implement SAP customer relationship management (CRM) to support a contact centre and six ‘one stop’ Info Shops across Herefordshire.I am currently managing the design and procurement of a potential new public/private partnership as part of Herefordshire Council’s development as a commissioning organisation. I am following PRINCE2 methodology for the project, tasking the project team, managing stakeholders, and facilitating the project board. Key Achievements- Managed the strategic change programme to transform Herefordshire Public Services by integrating Herefordshire Council and NHS Herefordshire and develop a commissioning organisation- Managed the programme to redesign and renegotiate the council’s strategic partnership with Amey, putting in place new management arrangements that have led to improved service delivery and savings of £1m on spend of approximately £20m per annum- Managed a programme to analyse the local health economy and recommend the future strategy. The study involved a wide range of NHS and social care staff and was carried out in conjunction with Birmingham University’s Health Service Management Centre- Managed a range of business change projects using the Prince 2 methodology- Implemented the council’s SAP customer relationship management (CRM) system

My assignments ranged from providing air traffic forecasts to support the development of airport master plans to providing subject matter expertise to Macquarrie Bank to support their due diligence investigations during their bid for Budapest Airport. Key Achievements- Designed an aid scheme for remote communities in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The scheme met the needs of the community and the air transport providers and was also compliant with the Single Market- Managed a project for BAA to consult 25,000 householders and businesses around Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Edinburgh and Glasgow on the implications of proposed airport developments - Carried out a study into the future of air transport security for the European Commission. The review was used to help define the way forward in European security legislation- Provided air traffic forecasts for a number of regional airports in the UK to support their master plans. - Provided analysis to support due diligence for a bid for a central European airport

Capgemini is a large international consulting and outsourcing group. As a Managing Consultant I had overall responsibility for delivering assignments and managing bids. - Managed a programme of process redesign and change projects for a large public sector organisation. A recently implemented Oracle based enterprise system (Finance, HR and Project Accounting) was not supporting the business due to a combination of poor system design, inadequate process design, and inadequate training and mobilisation. The programme reviewed the system and process design and put in place a range of interventions that allowed the organisation to take advantage of its investment in the new system (the project involved a team of nine consultants with an overall project value of approximately £2m)- Planned and managed the implementation of an Oracle internet procurement project for the MOD. Co-ordinated the activities of a number of very different groups including consultants, project delivery staff, operational staff taking over the system, client staff and their trading partners. Overall project costs £2m (as part of the overall £14m project to implement a trading platform) - Managed the production of a bid for an In Transit Visibility system for the Defence Logistics Organisation. The role involved co-ordinating the input to the bid from the technical, commercial and outsourcing teams from both Capgemini and EDS- Acted as reviewer and mentor to a number of Capgemini Consultants
