Create and presented Root Cause/Containment/Long Term Fix 1 pagers to Sr Executive Leadership. •3D Design Validation and Virtual investigations through CATIA V6. •Manage 9 Closures Mechanical Design Engineers (MDE) and CAD Design Engineers (DE) in three time zones, UK, Michigan/South Carolina, and California. •Lead and mentor on site Closures Resident and Trail Engineers at the plant in Normal, IL. •Hire/Mentor exceptional Mechanical Design Engineers, then help them develop towards their career goals. •Promotions - 3 MDE’s to Mangers, 1 Trail Engineer to Staff MDE and various other Staff Engineers to Senior Staff Engineers. •Lead development discussion with cross function teams for GEN 2 Gear Tunnel including Studio, manufacturing, suppliers, purchasing, process and TPM teams. •Select manufacturing processes, joining and construction methods for robust designs using new and develop technologies. •Lead team in Root Cause analysis, 24hr issue containment, validation, and issue resolution through Jira RC system. •CSI cost, weight and investment savings (on goal to exceed my 2023 target ave $75/vehicle with ideas I already generated @ $135). •Lead team in supplier selection for new R1 Peregrine products. •“Hands on” support at local Michigan suppliers for product sign off, urgent production builds, issue resolution. •Develop innovation ideas for future Side Closure products. •Chair and administer VP Level twice weekly Design Review. •Define innovative use of materials, adhesives, latching, hinging and part joining processes. •Data driven decision making with analysis from CAE, Crash and Impact teams, Scan Data, Measurement Data, run charts, production, and physical prototype trials.

• Responsible for design, development, testing, issue resolution and launch of R1T & R1S Hood, Fender, Side Doors, Gear Tunnel, Tailgate, Liftgate and Dropgate.• Lead team in Root Cause analysis, 24hr issue containment, validation, and issue resolution through Jira RC system for All Closures – Structures.• Visited Supplier plants to validate and buy off build processes, review run data, review fixtures, confirm detail & assembly datum schemes were being used.• Validate Plant Assembly tooling, Check Fixtures and Ring Gauges were to defined datum scheme and spec.• Lead diverse team of 22 MDE’s, CAD DE’s and Resident Engineers (RE) across four time zones, UK, Michigan/South Carolina, Illinois, and California.• Hire, mentor exceptional Mechanical & Design Release Engineers, then helped them develop towards their career goals with weekly 1:1’s, quarterly performance reviews and yearly compensation/promotion reviews.• Hire, manage and when required lay off contract and consultant staff, approving contracts and hours worked.• Interview, hire and mentor Tail Engineers (Graduate Engineer program), approve rotations and track progress.• Worked extensively with one DRE who I put on a PIP (Personal Improvement plan) for 5 months, tried to guide and mentor with weekly reviews, created a very detailed improvement guideline but after no improvement finally worked with HR to remove the DRE from the company.• Created and presented Root Cause/Containment/Long Term Fix 1 pagers to Sr Executive Leadership.• Met program timing for releases on for all programs.• Responsible for approval of product design changes in Enovia. • 3D Design Validation and virtual investigations through CATIA V6. • Chair and administer VP of Body Engineering twice weekly Design Review.
