I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2001. After 2 years in mixed practice I joined what was then Old Pound Vets in Shropshire. In 2008 I joined the partnership. In 2011 we merged with neighbouring Hollybush vets to create Severn Edge Vets. We acquired neighbouring practices and grew the existing sites, opening a centralised hospital and night service. From the humble beginnings of 4.5 FTE SA vets, we created a 21 FTE sprawling 10-branch entity that is now a staple tradename in Shropshire. I have a keen interest in all areas surgical and diagnostic. Over the last 5-6 years I have pursued all things keyhole. I have the GPCert and PgC in Endoscopy & Endosurgery, and enjoy promoting the advantages of minimally invasive surgical techniques. I have a scope for every occasion and have a keen interest in pursuing laparoscopic or endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic alternatives. I have set a notable ambition of trying to make the open bitch spay technique a thing of the past by bringing laparoscopy into mainstream first opinion practice. New year, new beginning. With my colleague Ryan Davis, I have established MSMVets (Mobile Surgical Mentoring), a surgical, laparoscopic and endoscopic mentoring service that brings all and any procedures to your doorstep. We come to you and teach you the procedures you wish to retain in-house. There is a widening gap between first opinion and referral surgery that needs re-stabilizing. And laparoscopic surgery is an option for all first opinion sites.
