After over 35 years in the rebar industry, I am now retired and enjoying this new chapter of life. It's been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities that this industry has afforded me.For background, my career began shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986 (Go Badgers!). I took my first step into the rebar industry as a Rebar Manager at Georgia-Pacific in Madison. From there, I embarked on a series of adventures, starting with establishing the office at Potter Form & Tie, which is now a CMC warehouse, in Madison and later in Rockford. I then made the move to Auburn, Indiana, where I joined Ambassador Steel.A pivotal moment in my career came when I was hired at Harris Supply Solutions as their first employee east of the Mississippi River. In this role, I had the privilege of helping the company expand its sales into a new area of the country, and it was a rewarding experience that shaped my journey in this industry.For the next 11 years, I had the honor of working for the leading independent rebar distributor in the nation, Adelphia Metals. Each year, I consistently ranked as one of the top sellers nationwide and had the honor of continuously growing my customer base for more than a decade.
