>Applied data reduction methods, principle component analysis and multiple regression to identify, for the first time, primary mechanical predictors of biological responses in spinal tissues involved in back pain. >Developed computational models, organized resources, and performed experimental research to assess novel spine therapies leading to award-winning publications and presentations in spine journals and societies.>Performed financial analysis, built business cases, and led marketing research and planning to commercialize healthcare technology for novel delivery of care in physical therapy resulting in $290,000 of non-dilutive funding and an optioned license.>Started and managed “The Spine Research Community,” a LinkedIn Group that now features 768 members, including all of the world’s leading spine researchers, and serves as the primary, on-line forum for the field.

>Developed a novel surgical device, including problem description, product design, fabrication, testing, and communication of results to broad audiences, leading to surgeons’ interest in commercializing the device. >Recruited and enrolled surgery patients in a spine clinic, communicated weekly with surgeons, collected clinical measurements, and analyzed and interpreted findings leading to three co-authored publications.>Performed robotic in-vitro mechanical testing of human cervical spines
