Started at the accounting department with the following tasks/activities: preparing and sending invoices to customers, preparing SB/LCs and prepayments for our bank, settling and preparing invoices from suppliers, supporting the sales department, supporting a new software programme Navision Business Solutions to apply in our way of work.After three years I switched to the operational department and performed the following duties/activities: send out nominations to suppliers, giving instructions to external barge company about our schedule, contacting suppliers about the barge schedule availability and e.t.a. , keeping into close contact with our barge captain about how to deliver the various products on board the barge(mgo,dma,lccco,hsfo and lsfo), approving incoming invoices, instructing our accounting department about making prepayments or SB/LCs for nominated products, calculating and sending demurrage claims according to the TTB rules.After four years I started to combine operations with commercial trading: quoting prices to our customers based on market information like Reuters screen/market development/feedback from customers and brokers, taking care of the business when our traders are not in office, by having close contact with them and the information as stated above, calculating prices for blend products with two or more components, handling assumed off spec. claims from customers and/or suppliers, - handling shortage claims from customers and/ or suppliers.
