I was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., and have lived in many places in the Midwest, including Columbia, Mo., Minneapolis, Mn., Abilene, Ks., and Garden City, Ks., before moving to Enid, Okla. on New Year's Day 2006. I am husband for 35 years to the former Kathie Hupp of Merriam, Ks., and dad to our two children, Michael (30) and Nicole (25). I was named Director at Visit Enid in May 2021 after serving as our organization’s Communications Coordinator since our office was born Nov. 1, 2010, and in a nutshell, anything that has to do with Enid's image goes through my office. I handle media requests, media placements, VisitEnid.org, our social media efforts, press releases, etc. Come see us and stake your claim for fun in Enid!I spent 24 years in the media, working at various times in radio and newspaper. Although my main focus at the three radio companies I worked for was as a play-by-play announcer, I have at times served as news director, copywriter, production director, on-air personality, Public Service director and promotions coordinator. I worked nine years in newspaper, first as Assistant Sports Editor before advancing to Sports Editor and serving in that role for five years.My wife Kathie founded Houston Screen Graphics in 1995, specializing in screen printing and embroidery. We sold our screen printing equipment and changed the focus of our business when we moved to Enid, moving into the promotional marketing field and renaming our business Houston Promotions. I left the media world in September, 2008 and worked with Kathie full time at Houston Promotions until the position at Visit Enid opened up.
