Designed and delivered large scalable data processing solutions for the UK’s largest Tour Operators (TUI, Thomas Cook and Virgin Holidays amongst others). These projects involved leading client meetings in a technical presales capacity, analysing client data to identify the key fields for extraction, defining the required development work and delivering the technology. This role included leading the client UAT testing and migrating client projects onto the live system.Client data was provided in a number of formats including text, xml and pdf. Bespoke java classes were regularly required to cleanse data before processing. The technology used for the data processing engine included a java servlet running within Tomcat, an XML engine written in Javascript and XSLT scripts.

McKinsey’s (Global Management Consultants) - Systems upgrade project for management reporting portal. Provided an upgraded portal using a Perl Conversion Script. This project involved working remotely with an on-site Consultant, McKinsey Project Team and Support Engineers in India.Allied Irish Bank (Retail, Commercial and Investment Bank) – Project to archive decommissioned AIB banking systems. Role involved attending system design meetings with the AIB Project Team, creating functional and technical specifications, implementing the web portal solution on-site and providing training and documentation to enable the client to leverage and use the technology.Portland General Electric (United States Energy Company) – System upgrade project. Delivered the upgrade of the reporting and data mining portal. Supported the client during the development, working in partnership with their development team.Samsung, Korea (Global Electronics Company) – Project to utilise the product’s web service interface. Delivered technical documentation, working in partnership with their R&D team in the United States and AXS-One in Asia-Pacific to deliver a successful implementation of their web service, providing client support during development and testing

Presales ExperienceDesigned and built numerous presales demonstrations to display reporting, summarisations and data mining functionality including embedded charts/graphs. These projects involved designing and developing reporting portals, on-site delivery, client support and evaluation of the solutions. Enhanced the technology to improve user-experience and deliver higher speed searching and reporting to the users.Many projects involved integrating the portals with workflow solutions to allow query resolution by the internal finance function and RDBC Management Systems to display real time transactional information.Designing and developing a Fee Earner Performance Portal for Freeth Cartwright LLC enabled fee earning employees to view their performance graphically. It enabled Senior Managers to review their employee’s and group’s performance and identify under-performing fee earners. This project was delivered on the client’s site, including delivering a system upgrade project.
