Serving as Associate Director of Age- Level Ministries at Matthews United Methodist Church since December 2017, I serve with a team leading all religious educational & service missions for young children, teens, college students & young adults. Prior to employment, I served in a volunteer role with youth ministries at MUMC.I retired from the Matthews Police Department in October 2017 after 30+ years of service, the last 24 as Chief of Police. I managed a staff of 75+ full-time and an operating budget of $6M+. I served on the Executive Committee of the Mecklenburg County Criminal Justice Advisory Group and led regional efforts on improving law enforcement responses to incidences of domestic & intimate partner violence.Since 1991, I've served as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Matthews, where I have held the positions of Director, Secretary & President. Our volunteer group of 30+ members, among other community service efforts, sponsor youth service clubs for local middle school & high school students, where I have served as the coordinator for our five sponsored youth service clubs for more than 20 years.
