I am passionate about helping people. I no longer believe the education system works in the best interests of children although I must admit I will miss seeing the look of achievement of the face of students. I am looking for a new challenge, preferably helping people. I enjoy working with the public and as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.I am an experienced campaigner for education. I have spoken to audiences of thousands in both conferences and on demonstrations. I have attended lobbies of parliament and organised demonstrations and stalls to inform the general public.I have a good record of developing membership of the NUT locally and in my role as an NUT officer I have led initiatives which contributed to two regional and one national membership development awards.I have twice been elected by my peers to represent young teachers in Yorkshire and the Midlands. I have also been elected to Secretary and PRO of South Notts NUT, Deputy Division Secretary on Nots NUT and I am chair of a national sub-committee of the union. This shows the respect my peers have for me.During my work in the union I have also been involved in industrial negotiations with local employers, including Nottinghamshire LA negotiating policies such as: the social media policy for teachers, performance management policy and absence review policy. I have also been an advocate for teachers in school, supporting them with professional problems, health issues in meeting and hearings. I have run professional training events for teachers and always received outstanding feedback for the sessions I have run. I always enjoy helping other professionals develop in their career. Outside of work, I am a keen cook and enjoy preparing meals for friends and family trying out new dishes many of which I have experienced while travelling.I am a keen golfer and enjoy a wide variety of sports.
