Resus Trauma Practitioner
Paramedic Fellow
Honorary contract providing me with clinical experience across all MAAC platforms, as well as clinical training courses and development.
Resus Trauma Practitioner
Employed by the Major Trauma Service, I am based in ED Resus as part of the trauma team. This involves the initial stabilisation and management of major trauma patients, transfer to and from CT and subsequent transfer to ITU if appropriate. I also support the ITU Registrars with any patients that require anaesthesia or advanced monitoring within Resus, and attend paediatric emergencies and major haemorrhage protocols that are called on the wards, alongside the Duty Anaesthetist.
Cmt1/Paramedic (Sergeant)
My role within the regiment involves Level 3 consultant-led critical care transfers and Level 2 Paramedic-led transfers conducted in austere and remote environments. This is part of a multidisciplinary team including Senior Doctors and Nurses which is able to deliver enhanced care. As part of that team, I am trained to deliver an extended set of skills above what Paramedics usually deliver, including front of neck access, assisting with Rapid Sequence Induction and finger thoracostomy. Due to the nature of the transfers, we focus upon the use of non-technical skills, including closed loop communication and a flattened hierarchy to ensure effective team work and to reduce any negative effect human factors may have on patient safety. I have also completed a range of military and leadership training courses and arduous exercises. These have helped shape me into a resilient, capable individual, able to succeed in a wide range of different, challenging scenarios and contribute effectively both as a leader and team member as the situation requires. In addition to that I have completed the below clinical training courses:- Battlefield Advanced Trauma Life Support- Military Pre-Hospital Emergency Care- Resuscitation Council UK Advanced Life Support

Hisu Practitioner
Working as part of the High Intensity Service User team for West Midlands Ambulance Service. This involves working with patients and multidisciplinary teams to figure out the best care plan for these patients, aiming to reduce their calls to the ambulance service by providing alternative care that is more suitable for their needs. This involves looking at their care requirements from a holistic perspective and working with a wide range of different teams across the NHS and Care Sector to best enable suitable care for them.
Hart Paramedic
Working as part of the Hazardous Area Response Team for the ambulance service as a Paramedic. Ready to deploy into, and provide Paramedic level care, to patients in a wide variety of hazardous environments. This includes chemical incidents, working at height, in water and within confined spaces.
