I created Rob Johnson Communications, my strategic consulting firm, to support businesses, professionals, and not-for-profits with their most pressing communications needs. . I listen carefully to my clients and advise on the best strategies while providing my expertise and knowledge. Some of my key achievements from this role include:-Supporting clients with a range of image-building and reputational strategies meant to improve their public standing -Guiding C-suite executives through media and message training and assisted executives on an entire re-brand project for the company-Conducting media training and executive coaching for top executives of both national and international firms. -Producing and hosting virtual meetings for clients, and virtual fundraisers for not-for-profits -Developing strategic partnerships with several agencies, providing media and message training to their top executives, assisting with branding and marketing initiatives, conducting opposition research, helping push legislative agendas for specific clients, and coaching and presentation training.-As part of these partnerships, I am currently a Senior Strategist at Strategia Consulting, a Senior Advisor at Kann Advisory Group, and I conduct media training and crisis communication with The Harbinger Group.-Co-host of the podcast "Can You Hear Me" with Eileen Rochford of The Harbinger Group💻Website: https://www.rj47llc.com/

As a member of the Special Olympics Illinois Board of Directors, I help guide the organization in its mission to be a global leader in shaping a culture where people with and without intellectual disabilities are fully integrated into the community. I collaborate with fellow board members to drive fundraising efforts, shape policy, and advocate for the athletes, in an effort to aid the organization as it provides year-round opportunities in competitive sports, health education, leadership, and personal development, all aimed at building a more inclusive world for athletes and their families. I am a member of the SOILL Executive Committee as the Marketing and Communications Chairperson.

Having graduated from DePauw University in Indiana, I am a true believer in such an education, and think it provides students with broad background in a multitude of subject matters.My role is to provide communications expertise to the executive leadership team and the institutions themselves, as well as providing the organization with honest and independent oversight.

TechCXO provides interim, part-time and project-based work to both start-up companies, and larger companies with revenues over $100 million. My role to is to team up with partners in the CFO, COO, CTO, and CMO practices to offer expertise and value to companies who may not want to hire someone full-time. As a Communications Specialist in the CMO practice, I provide top executives critical strategy when it comes to internal and external communications, identifying the stakeholders, and making sure the company’s message is clear. During the COVID-19 crisis, I have been leading internal and external communications for a task force TechCXO created to help our partners assist clients with securing loans, and dealing with issues related to HR, leases, and tax implications. This includes sharing our best information with the public, and hosting weekly webinars to help people through the crisis. I am now working with a client which is offering a safe, HIPAA-compliant, and affordable return-to-office app. I also advise clients on how to or whether or not to make public statements related to social justice, and how to message receiving PPP loan money if some elements question their actual need for it.

It was an incredible privilege for me to work with CBS Chicago as a news anchor for over 13 years. I covered some major news events and several sports events as well as interviewing some of the country’s most recognizable figures. Some of my proudest achievements from this role include:📌Led breaking news coverage, disseminating and interpreting events within minutes of real-time events, ensuring that the information presented to the public was fact-based📌Conducted live interviews with guests, asking pertinent questions while remaining cognizant of the external context of an issue📌Interviewed Presidents including Clinton and Obama, as well as national and regional politicians, athletes and top Chicago figures, including Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Archbishop Cupich and Rocky Wirtz📌Won a Regional Emmy Award on seven separate occasions for my work as a news anchor
