CurrentThe Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Division of Law Enforcement is responsible for uniformed patrol and investigative law enforcement services on more than 8,400 miles of coastline, 13,200 square miles of offshore waters, and over 34 million acres of land encompassing a variety of habitats including wildlife management areas, state parks and forests.• Charged with identifying and analyzing complex management problems and developing solutions for management issues on a statewide basis.• Assists the Director’s Office with special projects. Develops and coordinates Division responses to inquiries from federal, state and public entities.• Coordinates and develops documentation, summaries, proposals and presentations for legislative budget requests and the analysis of legislation which may impact the Division of Law Enforcement’s core missions.• Reviews and analyzes proposed legislation, regulations and contracts to determine what impact they may have on Division and Commission policy and procedures; • Researches, writes, and distributes the quarterly Law Enforcement Journal Division newsletter. • Researches, writes, and distributes the FWC Division of Law Enforcement Annual Report. • Coordinates the Division's internal and external communications efforts. • Coordinates the Division’s public records request fulfillment process.• Solicits and responds to questions and suggestions from all Division employees. Coordinates internal Division communications efforts to non-law enforcement Commission employees.• Researches, writes, and edits agency documents that include Division of Law Enforcement information, law enforcement working group and committee reports, official letters, law enforcement conference summary reports and other written materials. • Assists with writing operational and work plans.• Designs and conducts research projects and studies concerned with the improvement of management and organizational procedures.
