Development Senior Manager - Electrical & Routed ProductsSolidworks Corporation Mar 2008 - Feb 2014I joined SolidWorks when Dassault Systèmes acquired my company Priware, initially taking the role of Development Manager for CircuitWorks and CircuitWorks Lite, with the task of overseeing the integration of both products fully into SolidWorks.I later took over responsibility for the development and delivery of all SolidWorks’ Electrical and Routing related products, including CircuitWorks, CircuitWorks Lite, SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks Routing, Tubing and Piping products. Some of these products were developed in-house, some remotely, and others by third party suppliers.I also worked extensively on SolidWorks’ future ECAD-MCAD product strategy, liaising with ECAD partners such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence and Zuken to ensure SolidWorks remained at the forefront of developments in ECAD. I was also involved with the development of the ProSTEP iViP EDMD format for ECAD-MCAD interchange.Out of the office I presented on ECAD-MCAD Collaboration to CAD users and resellers at user group meetings and trade shows such as SolidWorks World and the Dassault European Customer Forum.

Technical ManagerZeal Solutions Aug 2000 - May 2004Zeal Solutions was the development and consultancy arm of UK SolidWorks Reseller NT CadCam. Zeal was set up to provide implementation consultancy and bespoke programming services to existing SolidWorks users and users migrating from older CAD systems. As Technical Manager I was responsible for overseeing the development of the software developed by Zeal. Typical projects would include systems to integrate SolidWorks with ERP or PDM, legacy CAD data migration and design automation.Zeal also acted as worldwide reseller for a data management product developed in-house and CircuitWorks, a SolidWorks-ECAD translator.

Cad ManagerKliklok-Woodman Aug 1998 - Aug 2000I had previously worked at Kliklok prior to joining Field Packaging, and was reemployed by them to modernize their CAD, PDM and ERP systems whilst ensuring integration with existing departments such as manufacturing, documentation, product planning etc.During my time at Kliklok, I was responsible for the implementation of 3D CAD (SolidWorks), PDM implementation, PDM-ERP integration, migration of legacy 2D CAD data (AutoCAD, Cadra) to 3D and internal CAD/PDM training. I also developed in-house utilities such as automated design of packaging change parts, batch printing and other tools using Visual Basic.

Chief DesignerField Packaging Systems Aug 1997 - Aug 1998I ran the design office at Field Packaging Systems, leading a small team of electrical and mechanical engineers designing complex packaging machinery.As well as the day-to-day running of the office, I implemented and updated a number of systems at Fields, such as a proper design numbering and production system, migrating mechanical design from 2D to 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and automating the design of families of similar products using the SolidWorks API.
