I am a seasoned C-level executive with over 36 years of experience in financial services, known for driving innovation, growth, and transformation in the specialist lending and challenger banking sector. As one of the founding start-up members of Aldermore, the first challenger bank, I had the privilege of being at the forefront of redefining banking in the UK.My career journey is marked by building and scaling five bank and non-bank lenders, four of them from the ground up. Whether designing new financial products or leading large-scale transformations, my passion lies in creating sustainable growth and empowering teams to exceed expectations. At Aldermore, I launched and grew the Commercial Mortgage, Specialist Buy-to-Let, and Property Development businesses, shaping them into key pillars of the organization. In addition to serving as Head of Lending, I contributed as a coach for future leaders and chaired the Product Committee, where I helped align innovation with customer needs and market trends. My leadership impact extended to my tenure as CEO of the NACFB (National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers), where I led a period of renaissance, reinvigorating the organization and strengthening its role within the industry.Earlier in my career, I became the youngest Executive Manager of a building society at age 28. Over the next six years, I grew its business to generate over a third of its profits, a testament to my commitment to delivering exceptional results.Beyond my corporate achievements, I am dedicated to giving back. For 24 years, I have served on Housing Association Boards, currently as a Senior Independent Director. As a trustee of a charity, I strive to bring positive change to communities and champion causes that matter.A builder of businesses and a mentor to future leaders, I believe that innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven action are the keys to making a lasting impact—both in the boardroom and beyond.
