Led a team of 8 engineers who supported internal stakeholders by developing data platform capabilities, full stack analytics applications, and data pipelines leveraging Python, Kubernetes, Airflow, Kafka, FastAPI, Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS cloud services. Key contributions include: • Designed the data platform from data ingestion to data egress. This includes building out tooling and frameworks for ingestion from a multitude of source systems (via Kafka, Fivetran, Segment, etc.), Snowflake data warehouses, data transformation and orchestration tooling (Airflow, DBT), Data Analytics (Looker, Tableau, Periscope), and egress to downstream applications and teams (Hightouch, Kafka Connect) • Designed and implemented domain-driven data stack for analytics teams to own their own data pipelines leveraging DBT and a multi-tenant Airflow instance deployed in Kubernetes. • Implemented and managed all ingestion data pipelines for downstream data engineers and analysts. • Led effort to migrate ownership of data pipelines from a dedicated data engineering team to a cross-functional full stack data product team. Leveled up full stack engineers to assist analysts by engineering transforms in Airflow. • Designed and implemented custom config-driven Airflow operators/tasks to sync batch tables between Snowflake and PostgreSQL, powering tables for sales analytics applications.

As a software engineer on the Data Science Products team, my role was to support data scientists and business customers by developing backend data science services, automating data science pipelines, and building platform tools utilizing Python, Gitlab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker, AWS, & GCP. Key contributions included:• Developing a generalized config-driven microservice framework for rapidly deploying content search services. Each deployed search service is composed of a flask-based ranker that calls Solr for results and scoring/ranking those results semantically using a blended word2vec and bag of words approach.• Developing, architecting, and maintaining more than 100 data science microservices deployed to production. I have also decomposed multiple monolith data science applications—breaking up functionality and migrating them to individual microservices deployed to Openshift and Kubernetes.• Helping architect data workflow infrastructure (leveraging Gitlab ci pipelines/jobs, Docker containers, and Python libraries) that automates data pipelines for data science workflows, search indexes, and content pipelines.

Clients include the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Fair Trade USA. • Designed printed material for EFF’s “Keep Your Site Alive” booklet in multiple languages. • Projects included designing Fair Trade USA’s 2013 Yearly Almanac (Annual Report) and templating PowerPoint presentations for FTUSA’s executive teams.
