CurrentResponsible for developing GCK's education offer across food growing, processing, cooking, and political skills. As part of the Farm Steering Group, I input into farm strategy, business plans, funding bids, and securing a site. Our vision is to develop a peri-urban farm hub north of London that connects with our work in South Kilburn and is rooted in agroecology and food justice practices. Since starting the role work has included:- Facilitating community research with over 100 participants to shape a new strategy and programme for GCK educational work. This included: GCK volunteers, staff, and patrons, as well as local schools and community groups.- Securing £25,000 of grants for our educational work- Completing DEFRA's New Entrant Support Scheme to develop the GCK farm- Developing a 5 year business plan for the GCK farm education work- Co-writing successful funding bids to secure £350,000 towards farm development

Doctoral Researcher
My action research project explored how urban agroecology can be evolved with deep democracy through working with colleagues at a community food hub and an agroecology workers cooperative in London, UK. Engaging with 67 participants through 8 participatory and qualitative research methods, the research explored how organisational structures, business models, and community-led policy can support the generation of equitable and just food systems in a city-region. Based at the Centre for Agroecology, Water & Resilience my supervisor team was: Ulrich Schmutz, Chiara Tornaghi, and Marina Chang.
