Procurement Assistant Director
Current-Supports and assists the Procurement Director in overseeing the day-to-day procurement functions of the Procurement Department for all City-wide purchasing and procurement functions in accordance with Chapter 23, City Code of Ordinances -Supports and assists the Procurement Director with all work assignments, supervising all procurement functions, staff, and work-Counsels, disciplines and completes employee performance evaluations, attends meetings, and provides training sessions-Works with Department Directors and all departments’ staff as needed and required to assist with procurement activities to ensure all policies and procedures are followed-Recommends and implements approved strategies and necessary change for the purpose of improving operational efficiencies and overall effectiveness -Conducts regular meetings with staff to provide updates, address special problems, recognize individual/group accomplishments, and communicate new/changing initiatives-Manages and addresses the electronic Munis ERP procurement system to include the processing of requisitions, change orders, invoices, and contracts-Manages and addresses the procurement card (pcard) process and procedures -Responsible for procuring and coordinating formal and informal purchase for architectural and engineering services, construction, supplies and services Citywide in accordance with all law, standard operating procedures, and administrative policies-Perform technical review in a wide variety of contexts, such as agendas, budgets, records requests, others-Review policies and procedures and provides recommendations for improvements -Assist with all daily operational functions serving as back up to the procurement staff with all tasks-Assist with daily functions such as budget administration, payroll processing, copier leases, mail services and others as needed and required-Serves in the capacity of Procurement Director as directed or in the event of absence
