I started with Infinitum as a Process Engineer with a blank slate of a warehouse, no supply chain roadmap, and very little understanding of electric motors. Our goal was to take the IES series motor to production.In the early days I spent a lot of time studying ISO 9001, configuration management, and learned the constraints we faced with operationalizing the business. I worked across departments to implement business transactions in the ERP and with the engineering teams to get the BOM configuration to match our ever-changing assembly plan with co-manufacturers. At one point I was managing the BOM in spreadsheets with a premature ECO process for multiple prototype products . Over time we built a team around these proof-of-concept processes that I developed for many of the main business functions of the business. As the business grew I became the process and business application guy and documented / trained to eliminate as much tribal knowledge as possible in every direction. The one constant I faced was a never-ending need for a new process in a new department and new software for a new business function. So it became a necessity to develop and implement new tools in the business rapidly. I learned how to begin templating this approach so we could do this more effectively.Then I transitioned to build the PMO in the organization so the business could get on track of the numerous products in development and create order across the organization. In that time I learned the intricacies of the New Product Development and Program Management, and how to build systems that self-manage. One thing I got hooked on at this time was Roll Up / Down OKRs, and connecting the business goals from the top down to the tasks the teams were working on. This was huge for my inspiration for all of my systems.
