Rob MacLeod has over twenty years of experience advising private business owners and leading merger and acquisition (M&A) engagements. He is currently Co-CEO and Managing Director at Bigelow LLC, a M&A firm focused exclusively on large successful privately-held businesses. In his Co-CEO role, Rob provides key strategic direction into Bigelow's strategy , engagement architecture, resource allocation, and professional development to support Bigelow's mission of helping owner managers on achieving their personal and professional goals. Since joining Bigelow in 2000, Rob has advised hundreds of owner-managers in engagements totaling over $5 billion of transaction value. These transactions have encompassed private equity (PE) backed recapitalizations and growth investments, acquisitions by domestic public, private and PE backed platforms, as well as acquisitions by international public, private and foreign PE backed platforms. He has led transactions in a variety of industries and business models including tech-enabled manufacturing, business services, value added distribution, consulting, flexible packaging, building materials, consumer products, healthcare, defense, software, education-tech and food and beverage. Rob believes that weaving together drivers and characteristics garnered from a wide range of industries, business models, and client situations unlocks creative growth strategies that prove consistently beneficial to Bigelow clients. Bigelow's client base is unusually narrow in the corporate finance world, purposefully, just private company owner-managers which Rob believes are different. They own and lead the company making their situations more complex and emotional. With these owner managers definition of success in mind, Rob has been instrumental in evolving Bigelow's engagement architecture allowing for the rapid proactive customization for each client. Rob received his Master of Business Administration, with honors, from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA where he was a Student Investment Fund Fellow, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Middlebury College.Rob lives in Rye, New Hampshire with his wife Kathleen and three children. He is an avid outdoorsman and can be found enjoying cycling, tennis, golf, skiing and salt water fly fishing.
