Profile bio

About Rob Martyn

I gained a love for the land working on the family dairy farm and have been involved in the Agricultural Industry for over 20 years. I attended the Dalby Agricultural College, before starting my career at one of Australia’s largest integrated food companies on the Darling Downs.Over 18 years I worked in a variety of roles, ultimately as Operations Manager, at SunPork's "Tong Park" site, a 12,500-acre property, increasing the capacity of the $100M operation whilst managing sustainably focused improvements of animal husbandry, water security, staff safety, biosecurity, and energy efficiency in a new bio-gas facility.Since 2022 I have been the General Manager for the Koala Farmland Fund, an unlisted managed investment fund which buys land in SEQ to rehabilitate the natural vegetation to be sold as Environmental Offsets to those developers who need it as part of their development application. We are targeting Koala offsets but provide offsets for other environmental matters suited to our properties. With a long career in the agricultural industry, this role combines my experience of agricultural land and the environment so they can co-exist and also help increase the amount of koala habitat in SEQ - which is deeply satisfying on a personal level. I am passionate about the development of young people within industry and was successful in establishing a young leaders development group for the Australian Pork Industry. I developed a Graduate Program for Australia’s largest fully integrated pork supply chain business and was a key project team member that developed the Autism & Agriculture Program, a world-first initiative that employs autistic adults with a high attention to detail in specialist animal care roles. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family getting out and about going camping, fishing and seeing new places. I am a big Rugby League fan, love having a beer and watching the Broncos & Maroons get up for a win!!
