I was subsequently asked to take on the role of Chair.The Road Safety Panel, is committed to delivering and disseminating “Good Practice” in the field of Road Safety to the profession and members of the general public and to assist Governments, Local Authorities and other organisations in delivering road casualty reduction in the United Kingdom and where possible ensure that other Member States throughout the EU benefit for UK experience.The Panels current key deliverables are:• Comment on Government consultations.• Dissemination of the new Road Safety Audit Guidelines.• Run an annual Road Safety Award that promotes best practice.• Assist in the development and management of the Society for Road Safety Auditors.• Running regular conferences on appropriate road safety topics.As part of these roles I regularly responded to government consultations on National policies and strategies and work closely with government departments for England N. Ireland, Scotland & Wales as well as bodies such as DfT, PACTS, Road Safety GB and ADEPT. -
