    As Oracle team lead and database administrator, I am responsible for the day to day management and operations of over 100 Oracle databases used for life insurance and annuity contract processing. Our system processes over 750,000 contracts nightly on a Solaris application server/Oracle database on Windows server environment. Our team also maintains an Oracle data warehouse of financial data used for reporting, interfaces, statement of accounts and more. Key Accomplishments:Migrated 80 Oracle databases from a Server 2003/EMC San environment to a Server 2008/NetApp San environment.Upgraded 80 Oracle databases from 10g (http://linkedin.com/uas/security/general-malware?url=10.2.0.4) to 11g (11.2.0.3) Implemented new NetApp cloning software (Snap Manager for Oracle) in order to rapidly create 3Tb Oracle databases.Deployed Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c in order to monitor and administer our Oracle environment.Responsible for interviewing, selecting and hiring database administrators for the Oracle database team.Implemented Oracle Dataguard strategy for data replication and DR solution.Worked directly with application vendor to performance tune and tweak our 3Tb production system to get our nightly batch processing window reduced from 2 hour average runtime down to an hour.Introduced new backup methods to ensure data integrity for our production environment: NetApp SMO backups, new RMAN level 0 and level 1 backup strategy, new syncsort disk and tape backup strategy.Performance tuned and tweaked legacy Oracle PL/SQL code in order to reduce long job run times. Created SQL tuning profiles and re-wrote legacy code to increase performance and maintain Oracle 11g best practicesImplemented new Solaris T5 servers to replace legacy Sun server hardware. Migrated ALIP software to new Sun server and reduced overall processing time by over 65%.Currently working on new strategy to migrate Oracle databases off of Windows server hardware to a Solaris server environment.
