Reporting to the CEO, I am in charge of, and instrumental in, Ritchie Bros.’ M&A strategy – both in the evaluation of potential targets and the eventual execution of the acquisition, as well as theintegration of new businesses into Ritchie Bros.’ suite of services. In addition, I provide oversight to global sector champions for the agricultural, transportation and oil and gas sectors to drive the transfer of best practices across geographies to accelerate priority sector penetration. I also oversee sales operations and sales support functions and partner with business unit heads to improve sales productivity

Working with the Executive Team to develop and carryout our strategic initiatives while leading and supporting our worldwide finance team as they handle $4billion of transactions annually. Acting as the spokesperson for the company externally and maintaining relationships with our shareholders and the 19 analysts who follow RBA.

This new position in Ritchie Bros. was responsible for many aspects of the business including insurance and Enterprise Risk Management, but the main one was project management. Our re-engineering project lead into the role of Project Director for the implementation of our ERP system, Oracle. Concurrently, I was responsible for our efforts to comply with SOX 404 and the development of our first internal audit department.

While living in Europe, I was responsible for our administration and operations during our fast paced growth all through Europe. It was a great opportunity to really learn the business from yard operations, to European HR, to negotiating sales contracts in multiple jurisdictions and languages.

Lincoln, Ne

After purchasing our largest competitor in the USA, I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and was responsible for converting their head office into the RBA administrative office for our USA operations, moving over 30 positions from our Vancouver office to Lincoln. The challenge was to create a new RBA admin office, which had never been done before, while maintaining our customer service levels and not upsetting our admin functions in the Vancouver office. My goal was to have our USA customers never know a change occurred and still get a hug from my Vancouver colleagues when I visited the Vancouver office - both achieved!

Starting our as the Controller for our USA operations, I soon took on the additional task of creating our operations in Mexico and then assisting with our IPO and the new world of external reporting and compliance.
