As a teacher, I have the ability to take very difficult academic material and explain it in a clear concise method. If remediation is required, I have a multitude of other methods to help the student understand the subject. I use a variety of teaching methods, including methodologies from H. Wong, H. Gardner, R, Marzano, and of course Mark Forget. In my day to day lessons I also use Bloom’s high level questioning techniques, discussion, interactive lectures using power point presentations cooperative learning projects and laboratory exercises. My goals as a teaching professional are not just “Teaching Honors Biology” but to help students become autonomous learners and critical thinkers. I provide the students with opportunities to expand their skill sets. My “secret” curriculum is teaching students to read critically and then take accurate notes over large reading assignments. Once my students master these methodologies in learning, they become highly successful in future classes and highly successful in college.Specialties: Working with exceptional students and helping them achieve a whole new level of understanding about the world around them.I have also coached Varsity Wrestling and Baseball. I also Volunteer as the Coach for the Bowling club.
